Mike Singletary built the 49ers team that made it to the Super Bowl. Many of the players continue to respect the leadership skills that he instilled and are thankful for the toughness he brought to the team. But Singletary, a mastermind when it comes to defense, has not been offered a head coaching job since being fired from the 49ers.
