DETROIT — Chevrolet and actor Laz Alonso General Motors’ Black History Month celebration through the “Learn it Live” and other events at several locations throughout the Motor City, including Central Collegiate Academy, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and the Renaissance Center downtown.

At the Central Collegiate Academy, Alonso along with Steed Media Group publisher Munson Steed and GM Foundation president Vivian Pickard (speaking on behalf of bestselling brand Chevrolet) provided the high school students with inspirational anecdotes on how their education propelled them to enviable heights in the business and entertainment genres. At the Charles H. Wright Museum, Alonso and GM vice president Eric Peterson engaged the Knight Foundation’s Black Men Initiative (BMe, pronounced “be me”).
