“On Saturday and Friday, you see an increase in use of drugs and alcohol. In the inner city, if you have a mix of drugs, alcohol and partying, it’s a never a good combination. I have seen an increase in gun violence. While I worked in trauma, we would would see 20 plus victims of gun violence during Friday and Saturday night. They say the most dangerous thing to do in Newark is mind your own business and stand on the corner after 2 a.m. There is an increase of gun violence and black on black crime. From teens to the age of 25, the number one killer of young black males is homicide. Most often the person pulling the trigger is someone who looks like the victim.We see how crime has increased in places like Chicago with over 500 murders in one year. Many were gang related. ”
