Common hosts charity event for his nonprofit, Common Ground, at flagship AT&T store in Chicago

Altruism has always been part of Common’s character, ever since he stepped on the music scene more than 20 years ago. So hosting an event at the AT&T flagship store on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, supporting his nonprofit organization, Common Ground Foundation, was second nature for the two-time Grammy Award-winning rapper.  The first part of the evening Common signed autographs for all his adoring fans sponsored by local radio station WGCI host by radio personality Tony Sculfield. The second half of the evening was a private affair filled with family and friends, members of his foundation’s board, executives of AT&T and Case-Mate, and members of the media. The Synergy that brought everyone into the room was a partnership Between Common, AT&T and Case-Mate, the makers of six uniquely styled cellphones cases that were inspired by art depicted in urban environments. The sale of each cellphone case will provide $5 to the Common Ground Foundation, whose mission is to be a creative outlet to underserved youth in Chicago Public Schools, through mentoring and providing a summer youth camp called Dreamers and Believers. The cases are available in AT&T retail stores and if you want to donate to Common’s foundation, please visit www.commongroundfoundation.com.
