Actor Terrence Howard, who’s playing in the crime drama Dead Man Down in theaters this weekend, is a Sigma. In February 2010, he became an honorary member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., which was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 9, 1914. Founders A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse and Charles I. Brown wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship and service.
He joins a host of notable Sigmas who are involved in the fields of arts and entertainment, business, civil rights, education, health, law, politics, science and sports. Find out who some of them are. –yvette caslin
