Michael Jordan’s alleged baby mama Pamela Smith emerged Tuesday from the Fulton County courthouse in downtown Atlanta after filing a motion to establish the basketball legend as the father of her teenage son, Taj.
“My son has the right to know who his father is, and that is a major issue. And that is something that we are working towards, to make sure that he knows who his real father is. He has that right,” Smith said, adding that she didn’t know that her son had posted a YouTube video requesting that Jordan acknowledge him as his son. “And after he posted it, I had to support him as my son. He has had an issue with this over the years because he doesn’t have a relationship with the person whom he thought was his father.”
Smith’s legal team has asked the Charlotte Bobcats’ owner to confirm his paternity to her son via a DNA test.
“Today we filed motions and see what they are going to do. We’ll talk behind the scenes to see we can resolve this,” said high-powered attorney Randy Kessler. “If we can resolve this, find. If not, we will see if the courts will proceed with the case, and if so, in what matter. She filed the case and got a very strong response and decided she needed some legal help.”
