The Heat have now won 23 games in a row to move past the Houston Rockets for the best winning streak in more than 40 years, when the Los Angeles Lakers behind Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West won 33 games in a row en route to the NBA championship in 1971.
The game had extra excitement from the venue, the team the Heat had to vanquish and the person they had to overcome that no one expected to arrive at a 105-103. Jeff Green lit up the Heat, especially in the first half, finishing the game with 43 points, but only scored 5 points in the 4th quarter when James took the game over, particularly down the stretch.
Lost in the ballyooed celebration of these red-clad rock stars in sneakers is the impressive 12-game winning streak by the resurging Denver Nuggets, which was not lost by one b-ball fan:
Nuggets now 12 game winning streak …. That’s cute 😉 #Heat #TheStreak
