Ways to ask for a raise and promotion

Post-interview introspection: If you get hired, then congratulations are in order. But if you don’t get hired, ask for feedback. It’s hard not to take rejection personally, but you can discover more about yourself through failure than you ever will succeeding. As Michael Jordan, who missed many last-second shots and free throws during an indisputably brilliant career, once said in a memorable commercial, “I have failed over and over again in my life. And this is why I succeed.” Consider your areas of weakness and tighten up.

Still, sometimes failure is possible when you were impressive and qualified for the position but someone else was simply more impressive and more qualified. If that was the case, go back and ice down your bruised ego (it happens to most of us), and be determined to come back stronger. Chances are, if you have the skills, the world will make room for you.
