Forbes recently released the “Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists of 2013.” Diddy led the list with $580 million; Jay-Z followed with $475 million; Dr. Dre earned $350 million; Birdman took home $150 million; and 50 Cent earned $125 million.

But it takes more than luck to become wealthy in hip-hop or in any business. It takes certain traits to succeed.
