April Fools’ Day pranks
Today, April 1, 2013 marks a day of foolish pranks and gags as common on the April Fools’ Day holiday. Even the White House, who held the annual “Easter Egg Roll” on the front lawn had fun with Fools’ Day with help from a YouTube sensation.
Kid President (pictured above) whose YouTube videos have garnered him millions of views, pranked a number of people looking to hear a message from President Obama.
A tweet from the official White House twitter feed set off the joke after it instructed people to expect a message from the commander in chief. “At 10:00 a.m. ET, the White House will release a special video message from the President,” it read.
When viewers went to watch the reported live stream however, Kid President was there grinning with an April Fools’ Day message. “It looks like you were expecting somebody else. Well April Fools’ on all y’all,” said the 9-year-old.
And while the government’s April Fools’ Day prank was creative, it was not one of the most common.
