Recently, Legoland Discovery Center at Phipps Plaza hosted The Adventures of Maddie book release event for new author Monyetta Shaw, CEO/Founder of The Evan Grace Group, this past Saturday at the indoor children’s attraction. The meet-and-greet included a book signing with the entire family, including fiancé singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and their two children, Madilyn and Mason.
She wrote the book out of the love for her children. Shaw, who has a new perspective on life since the birth of her children, has more respect for stay-at-home moms. It’s important to her to instill values, morals, and life lessons in her children and to leave the same messages in her books. “The Adventures of Maddie” is for all children, not just African American children, as six year old Maddie (in the book) shares and talks about her everyday adventures. Dancing, learning, playing, and even getting advice are all a part of Maddie’s experiences. The series of Maddie’s books has just begun and will follow the life of an adventurous, special, hardworking little girl tackling the values of life, according to Shaw.
