The quirky quartet from South Central helped provide a musical counterpoint to Cali’s gangsta rap scene. Bootie Brown, Imani, SlimKid3 and Fatlip were the West’s answer to De La Soul–but definitely had their own, stoned-out perspective. An album that cemented the West’s “alternative” rap scene.
