Tyson continues to battle demons from his past on a daily basis. He knows that another calamity could cause him to relapse. But with his family close and a better perspective on life, Tyson believes that he’s heading in the right direction.
“I’m just happy my kids respect me and I’m involved in their [lives],” he says. “I know if I didn’t have a family I’d be dead because I was a savage. If I didn’t change, or focus on my wife or children, nothing else would’ve mattered.
I want to take care of my family, not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually. I want people to see my story and to never give up. I don’t care if you have cancer, AIDS, or arms missing. You have to fight until the end. Never give up.”
