It’s evident that Rush Limbaugh will never change his bigoted ways. The shock jock recently found a new way to use race in order to make a nonsensical point.
While talking on his radio show, Limbaugh compared the Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to Trayvon Martin. “You notice also that the news media are doing to Dzhokhar what they did to Trayvon Martin,” Limbaugh said. “They’re regularly showing a photo of Dzhokhar that was taken when he was about 14. They portray Tsarnaev as soft, angelic, nice little boy, harmless… cute big lovable eyes. Not at all what he looks like today, but the news media seem to be making him look like an innocent little angel.”
The comparison is another example of Limbaugh’s extreme ignorance. Tsarnaev is the lead suspect in a crime that has him facing charges of using a weapon of mass destruction and malicious destruction of property resulting in a death.
On the other hand, Martin was an unarmed black teen who was shot to death by George Zimmerman, an overzealous neighborhood watchman. Martin and Tsarnaev have nothing in common. But if Limbaugh was to stick to the facts, he would know that Zimmerman’s actions resembled that of a terrorist. By killing Martin, Zimmerman terrorized the victim, the victim’s family and shed light on the terrorism associated with racial profiling.
Unfortunately, Limbaugh has a strong following in certain communities and there are thousands who believe his idiotic opinions.
