Tell us about your background before “Love & Hip Hop.”
My name is Kaylin Garcia. I’m 21, I have a sister and a brother. My mother is from Thailand and my father is from Puerto Rico. I don’t speak Spanish. How I got where I am today is because I dated Joe Budden and I was blessed with the opportunity to be in a relationship with him.
You were a Zumba instructor. Was that your full time job?
I was a Zumba instructor for two months. Prior to that I had a dance background being a hip-hop dance teacher. I went to high school for dance and trained in ballet, local, contemporary and modern jazz, but hip-hop is my specialty. That led to me teaching Zumba. I did it for about two months and then I met Joe [Budden]. I didn’t know where life was going to take me from [there], so I quit. Right now I don’t teach Zumba but I am going to start a beach body fitness program soon in Miami.
