Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, and older brother, Jason, 29, died of fatal gunshot wounds on Oct. 24, 2008. Her nephew, Julian King, 7, was found dead three days later. Hudson’s estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was convicted and found guilty of triple first-degree murder. He will serve three life sentences behind bars.
