Not drinking enough water can cause dehydration. Most people do not consume the recommended eight to ten glasses of water per day so most are mildly dehydrated. Any activity, especially exercise, may require even more water consumption. The side effects of not drinking enough water can range from mild to life-threatening, so it is very important to keep the body well hydrated at all times.
