Belly (1999)
Who needs silly things like good acting, strong dialogue and a strong plot when you can throw in really, really cool shots? That idea seems to be the approach director Hype Williams took on this crime drama from the late 90s. The acting ranges from mediocre to god-awful. There are moments where the plot seems to forget itself and it closes with a tacked-on ending that’s meant to give weight to all of the hammy melodrama.
