Don’t let the rappers and dope boys fool you. Brian DePalma’s epic about Cuban-American drug lord Tony Montana is a parade of bad accents, over-the-top acting, cartoonish violence and ridiculous setpieces. Pacino’s performance as Montana is about as nuanced as a coked-out Yosemite Sam and despite the fact that its undeniably entertaining, there are about two dozen better gangster films.
