Bad Boys (1995)
This action-comedy never saw a “buddy cop” cliché it didn’t like. By the mid-90s, the genre was way past its prime and fresh ideas were in short supply but that didn’t stop Michael Bay. Bickering partners? Check. The frazzled police chief? Check. Generic foreign bad guy? Check. And add a completely contrived subplot that involves the two leads switching personas for no real reason.
