Women’s Group Demands Amazon Drop Ex-Girlfriend Shooting Target

10,000 Join UltraViolet Campaign in First 30 Minutes

Amazon is under fire today from women’s groups for selling a shooting target mannequin named the “The Ex,” a large-breasted woman who bleeds when shot. More than 10,000 UltraViolet members signed on to the campaign demanding Amazon drop the ex-girlfriend shooting target in just the first 30 minutes. The mannequin is manufactured by Zombie Industries, a company featured at the NRA convention last weekend.

“Amazon needs to drop it’s upsetting ‘ex-girlfriend’ shooting target,” said Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet. “Violence against women is no joke, millions of women suffer violence at the hands of a partner or ex every year. As women, consumers, and human beings we demand better of Amazon.”

Today’s launch is a part of a larger campaign against rape culture and violence against women by UltraViolet that most recently included convincing Reebok to drop rapper Rick Ross over his statements and lyrics on rape and pushing Ohio’s AG to fully investigate all responsible parties in the Steubenville rape of a high school girl.
