Egypt Sherrod and Atlanta celebs give back for Mother’s Day
V-103 host Egypt Sherrod held her 4th Annual Mommy Makeovers event for the Mother’s Day holiday. Sherrod and her Egypt Cares Family Foundation as well as Black Opal Cosmetics and AMBI made over a plethora of deserving Atlanta mothers.
Hosted at Hair Design by Future Vision salon, mothers Helena Fountain, Martha Newton, Sandra Surrey-Davison, Nancy Grimes, Deborah Brown, Antoinette Woods, Tibet Crowder, Renee Jones, Charlene Carter and Faith Ware received complete hair, makeup and wardrobe styling. They were also provided treats courtesy of Gourmet Express.
Special guests at the event included the OMG Girlz who were joined by Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and the mother of OMG Girl Beauty, Shamra Rodriguez. Ne-yo’s fiancee entrepreneur Monyetta Shaw was also on hand alongside Sister 2 Sister’s Jamie Foster Brown.
One of the lucky moms, Helena Fountain, was awarded an all-expense paid trip to Aruba for her stellar parenting.
“Our annual Mommy Makeovers event has always been very close to my heart, but now that I am a mom myself, it has a whole new meaning to me!” said Sherrod about the event. “Motherhood is the most challenging yet rewarding job I could ever have in my lifetime. It was such an overwhelming feeling to pamper and celebrate everyday women who have endured so much and are still standing tall through it all.”
