While administrators, faculty and students at Hofstra University were preparing to end another successful school year, convicted felon Dalton Smith, 30, was planning his next crime. The Hempstead, NY native was being sought by authorities for violating his parole. A warrant for his arrest had been issued on April 25. Jessica Rebello, 21, along with her twin sister Andrea Rebello, her boyfriend John Kourtessiss and another student Shannon Thomas partied at a local bar to celebrate the end of the term. Smith was spying on them. He followed the students back to the sorority house, held them hostage at gunpoint and attempted to rob them. Expressing anger at being short changed, Smith demanded more money. “I saw you at the bar drinking. I know you have more money than this!” Smith demanded, according to media reports.
