Oklahoma City tornado
A tornado estimated to be a mile wide caused extensive damage Monday in southern Oklahoma City. The tornado also ripped through the suburb of Moore demolishing homes and leaving fires raging out of control.
This is the second day in a row that tornadoes have churned through Oklahoma City and its surrounding neighborhoods. So far two people have been confirmed dead.
Tens of millions of people have been told this week to brace themselves for severe weather. The National Weather Service estimates that in all, an area covering 55 million people was at risk for the poor weather extending from Texas to Wisconsin.
