The men behind the madness

The CCA was founded by three men in Nashville, TN (Tom Beasley, Don Hutto and Robert Crants) in 1983.  Tom Beasley was once the chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party. The men presented their concept to Massey Burch Investment Group, a venture capital firm. The investment company (which had also backed Kentucky Fried Chicken and Hospital Corp. of America) gave the men $500,000 to start CCA. In 1989, CCA earned $36 million and the company has grown tremendously since.
