Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia have always had a rocky relationship. The two got into a verbal altercation during The Players Championship two weeks ago. Moreover, Woods later told reporters that he doesn’t intend to reach out to Garcia to end the feud.

But their disagreements took a nasty turn on Tuesday.

While at The European Tour Players Awards dinner, Garcia was asked if he would host Woods for a dinner during the U.S. Open. Garcia responded by saying, “We’ll have him around every night. We’ll serve fried chicken.”

The comment was meant to be a joke, but it was anything but funny. Garcia later apologized by saying “I apologize for any offense that may have been caused by my comment on stage during The European Tour Players’ Awards dinner. I answered a question that was clearly made towards me as a joke with a silly remark but in no way was the comment meant in a racist manner.”
