Mookie Blaylock in serious condition
After being in a serious car accident in Jonesboro, Georgia, Mookie Blaylock’s condition is improving. As previously reported, the former Atlanta Hawk was put on life support Friday after his Cadillac Escalade went over the median and struck another car.
Blaylock and a female passenger from the other car were airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center.
That woman now identified as Monica Murphy has since died. Blaylock could face charges of vehicular homicide in her death.
Reps for the former NBA-er confirm that he’s since had surgery for a broken ankle and his condition has improved to serious.
Prior Friday’s crash, Blaylock had an outstanding warrant in Spalding County for failure to appear on a DUI and drug charge. Police have not indicated that drugs and alcohol were a factor in the accident.
