The Internship
Stars: Rose Byrne, John Goodman, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson
This movie could be subtitled, “How to Not Win Friends and Influence People.” Billy (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Owen Wilson) are unemployed salesmen who hope to land their next full-time job by interning at Google. A bit long in the tooth (read: old) and analog (read: not tech savvy) for an internship at a data-driven company, Billy and Nick, predictably, are in for a rude awakening as they get acclimated to a brave new world full of whiz kids half their age. And these wunderkinds are not merely smart, they’re Einstein-level exceptional, which makes Billy and Nick look even more boneheaded. Laughing at the mentally inept is the last socially acceptable sport. And laugh you will, uncontrollably. –p.d. lee
