Benjamin Crump:
The Tallahassee, Fla.-based lawyer, 43, was hired by the Martin’s parents two days after Trayvon Martin’s killing probably because he has had handled several wrongful death cases against police. He is seen as the driving force who turned a local incident into an international case. Crump has “overcame very humble beginnings in North Carolina,” according to his firm’s website — also negotiated a financial settlement with Zimmerman’s homeowners association.
