We will most certainly hear a lot from Serino in this case. Sanford detective Serino originally wrote in his report that he wanted to charge Zimmerman with second-degree murder but then changed it to manslaughter, drawing scrutiny from detractors. The point is, he didn’t believe that Zimmerman should have gotten off unscathed but was overruled by superiors. He has since requested to be moved from detective to overnight patrol, which was granted.
