Mother seeks medical help for baby born with a tail

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that about 1,500 babies are born with spina bifida each year and that if folic acid is taken during pregnancy, the condition could be prevented.

Surgeries are performed during infancy to prevent brain damage and physical disability; however, children with spina bifida are at risk for ADHD and having learning disabilities.
