Former New England Patriots superstar receiver Aaron Hernandez has been charged with the murder of former friend, 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, and five other felony gun-related charges.
The celebrated tight end with a history of violence and drug use plead not guilty inside the courtroom in suburban Boston. While he deals with the greatest threat to his long-term freedom, Hernandez is already being sued for $100,000 by another man, Alexander Bradley, whom Hernandez allegedly shot in the eye back in February. Bradley lost his right eye and said he needed major reconstructive surgery to regain use of the rest of that side of his face.
How this explosive episode in February evaded the attention of the Patriots and how the team and the NFL failed to take disciplinary action against Hernandez on this issue is beyond us.
Perhaps if action was taken on that shooting in the winter then this murder which took place nine days ago would have been avoided.
But the New England Patriots did act today. The NFL franchise dumped Hernandez just 90-minutes after he was taken into custody.
The reaction on social media to the charges levied against Hernandez was swift. Take a look Twitter responses to the Aaron Hernandez.
If #AaronHernandez didn’t do this he better start singing like Beyonce in an episode of first 48, cuz they case seems air tight!
