National HIV Testing Day is June 27. This year’s campaign’s theme is “Take the Test, Take Control.”
According to the CDC’s website, the United States has nearly 1.1 million people living with HIV with almost one in five not knowing they are infected.
Every year, to raise awareness and know your status, National HIV Testing Day occurs in hopes of encouraging more people to get tested. The rapid test results will allow those who are positive to seek and get the medical attention required and a jump-start on living a healthier life while also lowering the chances of passing the disease on to others.
