On Lil Wayne‘s 2008 album, Tha Carter III, he went out of his way to diss the Rev. Al Sharpton over his perceived hypocrisies. The two then sparred a bit in the media before the controversy faded. Now, Weezy and Rev. Al are a part of the same family tree, so to speak. It is being reported that Rev. Al Sharpton is working on a new book and the project will be co-released this fall by the publishing arm of Cash Money Records.
The Rejected Stone is scheduled to be released on Oct. 8 and will be published by Cash Money Content and Massenburg Media, in partnership with the Simon & Schuster imprint Atria.
Tracking Sharpton’s “personal evolution” from New York street activist to political candidate and champion for human and civil rights, the book will also include Sharpton’s perspective on rappers, including Lil Wayne, and he says that he would like to have a positive dialogue.
“Just because we disagree doesn’t mean we have to be disagreeable,” he told the Associated Press.
