Sarah Guyard-Guillot has been performing with Cirque du Soleil for about seven years. Unfortuntely last night, she fell to her death during the closing act of “KA” at the MGM Grand Hotel after falling 50 feet.
The 31-year old was mother to two children and has over 20 years as an acrobatic performer.
Guy Laliberte, founder of Cirque du Soleil expressed his deepest sympathy for Guyard-Guillot and her family stating:
“I am heartbroken. I wish to extend my sincerest sympathies to the family. We are all completely devastated. We are reminded with great humility and respect how extraordinary our artists are each and every night. Our focus now is to support each other as a family.”
“KA” performances have been canceled until further notice.
