The National Black MBA Association’s Houston chapter will hold its 2013 Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship Brunch on Wednesday, August 14th at the Grand Foyer of the Wortham Theater Center located at 500 Texas Avenue. The brunch will recognize the 2013 Leaders of Tomorrow, the Houston Case Competition winners, 2012 Scholarship recipients and the NBMBAA national fall conference.
“The beautiful thing about the LOT program is that it really becomes the foundation of what we do for Houston Black MBA,we focus on opportunities and development for professionals, but what becomes really important is preparing the next generation to become our leaders.” said NBMBAA Houston Chapter President Darrell James.
The chapter has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships to African-American students over the years for students raised in Houston or planning to enroll in a Houston-area college. “When I started in high school, I was pretty shy and didn’t like speaking in front of people,” says LOT Alumni and National Oilwell Varco Customer Loyalty Specialist Joseph Williams. “LOT definitely helped me to be thoughtful about whatever I was going to say and do.”
The 2013 LOT sponsors include; Houston First, Ernst & Young, IMPACT Strategies, James & Jordan, NABA Houston and Unity National Bank.
