Don Cannon named VP of A&R at Island Def Jam Music Group

Don Cannon will take over as Executive Vice President/Head of A&R, Island Def Jam Music Group. The award-winning producer will work directly with Karen Kwak, Executive Vice President/Head of A&R, to oversee projects and discover new artists to sign to the label.

Throughout the years, Cannon has worked with artists such as Jay-Z, Pusha T, Young Jeezy, Nas, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, OutKast and T.I.


Beginning his career as a DJ/producer, Cannon made a name for himself along with DJ Drama and DJ Sense as a member of the Aphilliates. The group helped to brand Gangsta Grillz mixtape series and helped to resurrect the mixtape era in hip-hop during the early 2000s.
