Yup in your $120 white tee. Kanye West has collaborated with Atelier de Production et de Création (A.P.C.) to feature a very basic collection that includes a “hip-hop” t-shirt, also known as a white tee that also comes in black. Knowing Kanye, there may be a message behind his overpriced line of Hanes t-shirts and hoodies. In his song “New Slaves” (see lyrics below) he talks about being a “slave” to material items. Perhaps the t-shirts are bait for attracting new slaves, or maybe he went ahead and picked the cotton himself. Whatever his mission, click continue to see the collection.
Doing clothes you would have thought I had help
But they wasn’t satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself
You see it’s broke n—a racism
That’s that “Don’t touch anything in the store”
And this rich n—a racism
That’s that “Come in, please buy more”
What you want, a Bentley? Fur coat? A diamond chain?
All you blacks want all the same things”
Used to only be n—-s, now everybody playing
Spending everything on Alexander Wang
