“Hello, I Love You” by The Doors

Jim Morrison loved the ladies. The final verse to what would become a number one hit for The Doors’ was written after “The Lizard King” had a dream about a black woman that he’d seen while he was living on Venice Beach.

Notable lyric: “Sidewalk crouches at her feet/Like a dog that begs for something sweet/Do you hope to make her see, you fool?/Do you hope to pluck this dusky jewel?”
