Four football players have been charged with aggravated rape. The five-count indictment comes as a result of the Vanderbilt University students reportedly raping an unconscious 21-year-old student in her Gillette House dorm room on June 23. And, pictures were taken. Three of them were black: Brandon Banks, 19, of Brandywine, Md. who played defensive back; Jaborian ‘Tip’ McKenzie, 19, of Woodville, Miss. who played receiver; Cory Batey, 19, of Nashville, Tenn. who played safety; and Brandon Vandenburg, 20, of Indio, Calif. who played tight end.

Vandenburg also has been charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count of unlawful photography.

On June 25, officials were checking surveillance video of the dorm’s hallway to investigate another matter when they noticed the four young men were acting suspicious. They handed the video over to the Nashville police sex crimes unit on June 26. On June 29, administrators at Vanderbilt decided to dismiss the students pending the investigation.
