Advice to your peers is one of those topics that is necessary but not always openly given. World Famous G-Mackan Atlanta-based DJ, took the time to sit with rolling out to offer advice to up-and-coming DJs. Hope this helps! – Joi Pearson @JoiAPearson

What got you into deejaying? How long have you been doing it?
I’ve always had a passion for music since I started playing the piano and trombone early on in my development. In college, a friend of mine brought some DJ equipment to his apartment. I started playing with it and experimenting with blends and the rest is history.
What  are you currently working on?
I’m a brand ambassador for Reebok Classic and I provide the soundtrack at events such as the Essence Music Festival, Peach Drop, Honda Battle of the Bands, CIAA, etc.
How do you build your brand?
I use social media and email marketing to communicate with my target audience.
What do you love most about what you do?
Interacting with people is the best part about what I do. There’s nothing like the energy you feel when you’ve helped to create a successful feel-good experience.
How important is your self-image in what you do?
It’s the only thing that’s important. How you see yourself is communicated in everything that you do.
What’s most gratifying about what you do?
Whenever I impress myself with a project it’s the best feeling in the world.
What advice would you give to aspiring DJ’s?
Push the limits. Network along your level as well as above. Find inspiration from nontraditional sources.
What else do you have going on?
International travel and gigs.

How can people find you?
I keep it simple, just Partywithgmack (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook)
