In this sci-fi comedy (yes, sci-fi comedy) five friends get together in their hometown after two decades to try to top their previous legendary pub crawl. The plan is to down 12 pints in 12 different pubs, wrapping up the adventure at a bar called The World’s End. The group soon realizes that something is amiss with the residents of their former home, and it can’t be attributed merely to the passage of time. Their neighbors and friends have been replaced by … robots, egads! And the robots aren’t too keen on the guys making it out of town alive. –p.d. lee
