Rosh Hashanah is a two-day celebration, which begins on the first day of Tishrei, which is believed to be the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve and their first actions toward the realization of mankind’s role in God’s world. Meals during this time usually include apples and honey to symbolize introducing a sweet new year. Rosh Hashanah 2013 begins in the evening of today, Wednesday, September 4 and ends in the evening of Friday, September 6.
