Michelle Williams wants a word with Keyshia Cole: ‘I don’t do Twitter beef’

Singer Williams arrives as a guest at the premiere of the new Lifetime cable channel film "Call Me Crazy: A Five Film" in Los Angeles

Keyshia Cole
clowned Michelle Williams during Destiny’s Child’s reunion performance at this year’s Super Bowl, setting off a few weeks of comments between the two R&B stars. But Williams insists that there is no “beef,” on her end. During an interview with Hot 107.9 in Philadelphia, Williams claimed that she wants to actually have a conversation with Cole to clear the air.

“I don’t even do Twitter beef,” Williams explained. “I can’t wait to see [Keyshia Cole] in person so we can talk and say ‘Hey, what happened?’”

Williams went on to say that she admired Cole, at least prior to their falling out in February.

“I will say this, I was a major fan of hers,” Williams shared. “That’s my first time even saying that. I understood her story and was rooting for her. My little sister was born with crack cocaine in her system, so when I see someone like Keyshia Cole, who is defying the odds, doing her thing and taking care of her family — she was somebody I was rooting for, because I could understand where she was coming from.”

“It’s all good, people make mistakes, I don’t hold that against nobody, I wish everybody the best. I want everybody to win!” Williams added.

As for Cole? It doesn’t seem like the Bay Area songstress is feeling Williams’ attempt at smoothing things over. A fan tweeted some of Williams’ comments to Cole, and her response was icy — at first.

“That’s nice,” Cole responded initially.

She then seemed to indicate that their feud goes back further than just the Super Bowl.

“Can’t stand when people say things, then act [sic] they never said like they better than everyone else,” she tweeted. But she also added that she may be willing to have a heart-to-heart. “I mean its cool tho. We can link up whnevr [sic].”
