Burger King introduces lower-calorie ‘Satisfries’

Burger King is changing up their fries again in attempt to top those tasty McDonald’s fries.

The new “Satisfries” french fries are claiming to be  30 percent less fat and 20 percent fewer calories than their current fries and supposedly  40 percent  less fat and 30 percent fewer calories than McDonald’s number one selling fries. The fries made their debut Tuesday with a special coating that is believed to be less porous and absorb less oil making them a healthier choice.

The new product took two years to develop with McCain Foods and can not be sold or distributed to any other fast-food clients. Satisfries will cost between 20 cents and 30 cents more than regular fries. They will not replace the current fries but will be a healthier menu option for customers who are trying to cut calories.

Burger King’s regular medium fries are 410 calories and an order of the new Satisfries are 340 calories. How does this compare to McDonald’s? A medium fry at Mickey D’s is 380 calories.

Everything in moderation is key.

While Burger King’s fries claims fewer calories and less fat. I will stick to ordering a small McDonald’s fry when that craving hits. Some things just can’t be substituted.

Will you make the switch?
