NY Jets upset Patriots after coach Ryan enforces ban on sex

When it comes to facing off against Bill Belichick, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has been known to do whatever it takes to motivate his teams to beat his coaching nemesis. With Sunday’s match against the Patriots giving the Jets a chance to move within a game of the Patriots for the division lead, Ryan was up to his usual pre-game motivational tactics.

On Wednesday, the Jets head coach told players to he did not want them to do chores at home until after Sunday’s game. That doesn’t appear to be too much of a request, unless, like some players did, you take that to include no sex with your wife. Jets player Josh Cribbs said that the players could tell how badly the team’s head coach wanted to beat the Patriots on Sunday when he told the team about the chores, however some players gave the statement a little too much thought assuming Ryan meant no sex with their wives either. On Thursday, Ryan cleared the air saying he never told the team not to have sex with their wives and that the statement must have been “misinterpreted.”

Misinterpreted or not, the Jets shocked the Patriots with a thrilling 30-27 overtime win against the Patriots holding Tom Brady to a 48 percent completion rate with no touchdowns and an interception by Jets Antonio Allen returned 23 yards for a touchdown. Jets rookie quarterback, Geno Smith continues to show he can handle the pressure in the pros as he threw for 233 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another touchdown. The Jets improved to 4-3, moving within a game of first place behind the Patriots.
