It’s no secret that the dramatic love triangles of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” helped propel it to the top of the ratings charts, and now the original “Love & Hip Hop” has an infamous love triangle of its own thanks to star Peter Gunz, who has been cheating on his longtime girlfriend, Tarrace Wallace, with his protégé and alleged “wife,” Amina Buddafly. And though fans may be shocked by Gunz’s infidelity, he recently claimed that he’s always had problems staying faithful.
During a recent interview on “Sway In the Morning,” Gunz explained that he began cheating on Wallace when they were going through a rough patch and it seemed like their relationship was doomed. As millions of fans now know, instead of just leaving Wallace, Gunz struck up an affair with Amina, something he admits was the wrong plan of action.
“When you’re up to no good, and you have a beautiful, smart woman like I have [in] Tara, absolutely the right thing to do is to break up with the one you’re with and move on,” Gunz said.
And although Gunz has been dishonest with both Wallace and Amina about his intentions, Gunz was honest with himself about his infidelity and admitted that his cheating has always been in an issue in his life.
“I can absolutely tell you I have no complaints about Tara. She’s dope! It’s me. It’s my bull—-,” Peter admitted, adding that he’s ruined several relationships by cheating. “I’ve never been in a relationship where it was the woman’s fault. I’ve always had a problem being loyal.”
Gunz became even more honest about his situation as he revealed that he joined the show to make himself richer, and he used his relationship drama to secure a spot on the show.
“S— was gonna blow up anyway.” Peter resignedly told Sway. “I was going to get busted. Why not get paid to get busted?”
Gunz even admitted that he was broke before he joined the cast of the show.
“I’m f—– up out here. Last time I went to the ATM, that s— told me to get the f— outta here. I had one hit … when they called me about the show, I was 3 months behind on the rent.”
However, he admits that his exploitation of his life is sending the wrong message to viewers about how to conduct themselves, “As an old black man, I should be setting better examples.”
