Concert review: Big Freedia at Brooklyn Bowl

Big Freedia at Brooklyn Bowl

For two days Big Freedia, queen of bounce music and the unofficial queen of twerk (sorry, not sorry Miley) rocked the stage at Brooklyn Bowl.

Accompanied by four New Orleans dancers and an envious mane dipped-dyed blonde, Big Freedia proved why he deserves to wear the crown.

Freedia is more like the host to a great party than a concert. Crowd participation is the rice to the gumbo of this rump-shaking performance. Friendly, barely dressed women pulled about 30 people on stage.

There was no discrimination, no matter your size, sex or race, everyone was invited to shake what their momma gave them.

Freedia is not afraid to twerk his pants off — literally. Several times during the show his pants came undone but that didn’t stop him from putting on a great show.
