Aio Wireless’ Gary Mariner talks professional growth

Tell us a little bit about your professional background.
I worked for four years in NYC as a car salesman, then two years as a customer service professional. I then took a position within AT&T as a sales consultant working my way up towards a management position. After relocating to Atlanta for better growth opportunities I finished six years with AT&T and moved to Aio Wireless as a store manager.

Have you held a management position in the wireless industry before?
Yes, I held a management position with AT&T both in New York, and Kennesaw, Ga.

If yes, how does your role with Aio Wireless differ?
I have the opportunity to be much more involved with the local community and our customers. I have much more growth potential and my work ethic is noticed.

Are you currently involved with any community organizations or initiatives?

Yes

If so, which ones?
B.S.A. Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow member
Community outreach to youth in need of a strong father figure.

How do you set career goals for yourself?
I have a vision board that I look at daily to remind me of the goals I have placed before myself. I use this as a daily reminder of what I am working towards and why!

What type of career opportunities can be had working with a brand like Aio?
There is no limit to the growth potential within this company.
Starting at the sales rep position you can grow to manager and beyond very quickly as we are opening up numerous locations across Atlanta.

What are your favorite mobile devices on the market?
Nokia Lumia 1020
iPad Mini
LG G2

What phone feature do you currently use the most?
Music Player: I use this as the fuel to get me through each day. No matter how I am feeling I have an album to get me back on track.

How do you use your phone to organize yourself?
I utilize the synchronization with my various email addresses to keep my calendar and reminders synched across all my mobile devices. As well, having Microsoft Office functionality makes life from a business perspective so much easier!

What are your three favorite apps to recommend to our readers?
Songza (Incredible music collection with no commercial interruption)
Kindle (Increasing your knowledge is always a good bet)
Check (Keeping up with your bills has a long-term benefit)
