Chicago nonprofit youth job training program launches online fundraiser

True-Star-Is-The-Future

The Chicago based True Star Foundation, which offers teens innovative out-of-school activities and job training, has begun an online fundraising campaign to continue its mission of providing at-risk youth real world experiences in the workforce through on-the-job training apprenticeship programs.

Donating to True Star Foundation will help make dreams become reality for our youths. Through real world on the job training programs our youth are finding, learning and loving career paths that will best suit them in the future.” says executive director Na-Tae Thompson.

True Star Foundation was founded in 2004 by Thompson and DeAnna McLeary to tackle the barriers to achievement faced by at-risk youth in Chicago, which include poverty, unemployment, lack of opportunities, and inadequate schools and education. The non-profit organization provides a creative outlet in the form of literary and professional development programs for youth. Their mission is to demonstrate healthy transitions for youth entering early adulthood by exposing them to positive real world experiences.
